When the hurlyburly's done. When the battle's lost and won. - That will be ere the set of sun. Where the place?
Upon the heath.
IT & Technology
The possibilities computers open for everyday life applications are astonishing. It has almost become a game for me to automate everything. This includes automating backups, transferring music to my mp3-Players while splitting between local and SD storage, checking formatting issues in text documents or auto-creating letters. From music library queries in rockbox on my tiny mp3-Player to microcontroller programming, there is always something to discover. Find some of it in my IT-Blog or Raspberry Pi projects .
Social Dances
After starting with ballroom dancing I have been progressing through Swing, Salsa and Tango as I was living in different countries where these dances were common. Since that, dancing (especially Swing) has become an important part of my life. I engage in organizing dancing events, occasionally teach classes or simply keeping the local community intact by building musical suitcases or providing advice on soles.
Intercultural Exchange & Travel
I have always been fascinated by international communication and cultural exchange. This influenced my decision for my international academic curriculum, but also my engagement in the promotion and organization of international exchange. In particular, I have worked for the Luxemburgian student organization (CEUL) as representative for culture and sports, and in the university network Campus Europae as student representative in the student council and in the subject commitee for natural sciences.
Today, I follow this interest by travelling to more places every year, having lead not only towards learning some more languages and getting a different perspective on life. What is more valuable than the time spent with the amazing people this world has to offer?
Outdoors & Flying Objects
With the right people around, I enjoy hiking, cycling and pretty much anything that happens outdoors.
Furthermore, a particular love pertains to objects that do not fly straight, such as kites, boomerangs, discs, and squirrels. See, for instance, my page on Designing boomerangs or kites
